results. At least in my opinion. The reason that I say this is because
I recently compared Google's results with Yahoo's for a fairly
comptetive search phrase. The results from the two search giants were
about as different as night and day. I was actually trying to track my web page's position in Google and so
after I typed in the search query I studied the results looking for my
blog page. I was disappointed that I hadn't reached the first page yet
because I had been doing a good deal of backlinking. But, I didn't
think too much about the other results that Google brought back.
Nothing but a bunch of websites. Nothing spectacular. So, I went over to Yahoo to see if I was ranked there. When I looked
at the results I was stunned. Yahoo had returned all sorts of article
directory content and other basically arbitrage sort of results. While
on the other hand, there were none of these types of results in the
Google listings. Google returned blogs and other "real" websites. I
suddenly was able to see just exactly what the results were of the
Panda update. This is important because it really goes to show how backlinks are important for SEO in light of Google's change. When
you are link building, it really does matter if you want to get your
links in front of people. A lot of people are going to have to adjust
the way they do marketing now that a lot of sites just aren't going to
