Good Ideas To Help Your Child All Through Life

I found this article and liked the message. Monitoring your children is not just done at night time or while they are on their computers. Being active in their development means taking part in all aspects of their lives. Read and ponder these thoughts below. Enjoy...

12 commandments for parents

In a child’s education an important factor is the parents’ expertise for this “job”. No one is born holding all the knowledge, but we can learn and understand some things from books or advice from qualified persons.

Amongst the commandments a parent should strictly follow are the following:

1. Do not underestimate your child – he can understand more than you think he does and if you make him believe you think poorly of him this might affect his development.

2. Don’t use threat – a child loves a challenge and once threatened he might probably go on and do what he wasn’t suppose to just to see if he can escape the punishment.

3. Do not bribe your child – if you are trying to get him to learn for money for example, he will fail to understand the importance of learning, all he will get from this is the importance of money.

4. Do not make a small child promise something – small children can’t hold promises so don’t force them to lie and then punish them because they did that.

5. Do not keep them under a short leash – to grow up normally children need some space, some freedom.

6. Do not use big words or too many words when you are talking to your child – keep your ideas simple and concise so he can understand every thing you have to say.

7. Do not expect an immediate and blind obedience – it is not recommended, the child has to be learned to think for his own not to follow orders.

8. Do not indulge him too mush – he can develop compartmental disorders.

9. Do not compromise when it comes to the rules of a game – the trick for a game to become educative is too have its initial rules respected.

10. Don’t impose rules that don’t go with the age of your child.

11. Do not try to inflict quilt – quilt is not an appropriate feeling for children, especially if they are little.

12. Don’t give your child orders that you don’t take seriously – your child will try to please you and giving him an order is drastic, and it becomes cruel if that order is a joke.

All these “commandments” are addressed first to the parent. But they are to be referred to by teachers and educators as well. Along with the parents, they will settle upon an attitude and strategy for the education and growth of the child, so that they can give him all the things he needs to properly develop emotional and physically.

Car Massage Seats Becoming Common

This is another post reviewing an automobile. It seems that car makers, rather than saving all the comfort and perks for their larger and more expensive models, are adding a little more bling to many of their offerings.
Take the Renault Latitude for instance. While it is not an economy car by any means, it's not in the same league as, say, BMW or Audi. However, this car does come with some finer appointments too, like a driver's seat massage system.

But for around $5000 more you can have the Latitude Luxe, which adds a raft of additional features worth considerably more than the asking price, including a high-end Bose sound system (outstanding), three-zone climate control with toxicity sensor and active carbon filter, and a two-mode driver’s seat massage system that uses pneumatic rollers to reduce stress in peak hour crawls.

2011 Audi A8 comes with everything, including a steep price tag

The 2011 Audi A8 has seat massagers, plus a whole lot more...

Audi introduced its plunging grille on the prior A8, and now every other Audi has it. If this A8 portends Grille 2.0, some may wish for a reboot. The massive opening has eight slats that stretch from hood to ground. If your state requires one, the front license plate will have to hang somewhere in the chromed abyss below Audi's four-ring logo. While the new face drew criticism from a few editors here, I didn't mind it as much as I did our test car's headlights, whose scaly LEDs look downright reptilian.
The extended-wheelbase A8 L adds 5.2 inches of length. Most of the extra space goes to the rear seats, which gain 4.2 inches of legroom and a slew of optional features — climate controls and seat massagers for the outboard passengers, a mini refrigerator and more. Even without those extras, our regular-wheelbase tester had a comfortable backseat, with ample legroom and excellent thigh support for my 5-foot-11 frame.
Our test car's front seats had exceptional adjustment range, and their memory settings remember the smorgasbord of power adjustments available, including lumbar and side-bolster support — a rarity. Thigh support up front is excellent, but over a two-hour drive I found the backrests a bit stiff.

Strong Core Muscles Can Prevent Other Problems

Excellent article outlining why it's important to work on building up core muscle strength

The main muscles in the human torso comprise the "core," and they are more important to us than their relative neglect would suggest. Toned core muscles might not be as showy as hefty biceps, but core fitness is absolutely essential to physical health.

"The core is what keeps us upright and in proper body alignment," says Craig Sagert, certified personal trainer and Workout Centre Supervisor at the Jamie Platz YMCA in Edmonton.

"Without a strong core, the rest of the body isn't able to function properly. As well, weak core muscles means extra stress is put onto the spine. It's as if the core is a car's shock absorbers and the spine is the suspension.

When the shocks don't work, all the impact goes into the suspension -and it breaks."

Setting Up Mom's Nursing Area

Once you've reached the third trimester, you'll probably start thinking about baby video monitors, stocking up on nursing bras, breast pads, and loose button down shirts for the coming months ahead. While getting ready to breast feed, you can also create your personal area, a custom designed breast feeding area for yourself.

Your nursing area should reflect your personality. If you like a loud, yet friendly surrounding, you should consider setting in a corner of the living room or family room. Keep an extra chair or two near you so family members or even friends can keep you company.

If you prefer peace and quiet, a cozy study or empty guest room would be ideal. You can close the door, dim the lights down, then take a few deep, calming breaths while you breast feed.

Your own chair
No matter if it's a glider, overstuffed recliner, or desk chair with wheels, you should make sure your nursing chair is very comfortable. You'll be sitting in the chair for hours each day, so you'll want it to be very comfortable. You should always look for one that offers back and shoulder support, along with arm rests.

Support underfoot
You can use a footstool, low coffee table or a stack of pillows to elevate your feet as you breast feed. If you raise your legs and feet to bring your baby to your breast, you'll avoid possible backache.

Pillows and more pillows
Your neck, arms, feet, and back will need as much support as you can give, so don't hesitate to surround your body with pillows. If you lay a pillow across your lap for your baby to lay on, he'll be very comfortable and that much closer to your nipple. For extra comfort, you can even purchase a specially made nursing pillow that will encircle your waist.

Table for one
You should always keep a small table or stand within arm's length of your breast feeding chair. What you use should be big enough to hold a coaster and glass of liquid. Some women prefer to drink through a straw, while others prefer to drink from the glass.

You'll also want to keep healthy snacks on hand as well, such as fresh fruit, nuts, or crackers and peanut butter to help you replace the energy you use while you breast feed.

Distractions
If your baby is a slow eater or has a really big appetite, you may want to keep yourself busy while he feeds. You can fill the shelves of a nearby cupboard or bookcase with your favorite books or crossword puzzles to occupy yourself until your baby is full. You should also keep a phone nearby as well so that you can talk to family or friends to pass the time.

These Are Some Facts About Low Back Pain

In the USA, low back pain is one of the primary causes of disability, and this is supported by the statistics that in each ten individuals, eight may be showing signs of this condition.

It's a paradox that the extent of pain really has nothing to do with the intensity of damage afflicted. Unlike with other acute ailments and disease, chronic lower back pain generally doesn't have anything to do with a severe amount of damage. A large herniated disc may be relatively painless whereas muscle strain or spasm from sitting all day could be the cause for excruciating back pain.

The sponsors for lower back pain may be extremely complex. In most cases, people suffering from it cannot exactly point out the location of concentrated pain or what they exactly feel. This is due to the reason that there are a number of underlying structures located at the lower back that may cause the pain. Listed below are several parts of the spiral anatomy that may be the reasons for pain:

• Irritation on the large nerve roots located at the low back that are connected to the arms and the legs.

• Irritation in the smaller nerves in the lower back spine.

• Strain at the erector spinae, also termed as the large lower back muscle.

• Injury/ies on the joints, ligaments and bones.

• Injury at the intervertebral disc.

There are cases however that the lower back pain is felt and suffered from yet there are no known anatomical cause or causes to relate the pain with. Though these types of lower back pain may not yet be fully recognized, immediate treatment must still be addressed. However, lower back pain may usually be associated with some general causes. An example of which is the muscle strain on the lower back or more specific diagnosable condition such as lumbar herniated disc or a degenerative disc disease.

Symptoms of lower back pain that are frequently related with surgical approaches:

• Bladder incontinence or sudden bowel movement
• Progressive weakening of the legs
• Continuous low back pain or abdominal pain
• Signs of fever and chills that are directly linked with lower back pain
• Caner cases
• Extreme weight loss
• Recent case of trauma, especially when severe

Many people who have lower back pain think that they have to live with it forever. However, early diagnosis and treatment generally prevent people from experiencing more excruciating pains and higher treatment costs. And, if most back pain is due to something like muscle strains or spasms, this could be a relatively easy thing to fix with a few stretches and ice.

You won't really know until you give yourself or have someone else give you a back pain assessment. Having a physical therapist give you a thorough evaluation can actually pinpoint and identify what's actually causing your pain. Once this is done, it's a lot easier to develop a plan of attack.
